kokedama Workshop at Plant Doctor

Discover the Art of Kokedama – Create Your Own Living Plant Display in Sydney

Come and join us at Sydney’s Inner City jungle warehouse makerspace. Stepping into a warehouse filled with over 350+ indoor house plants, you’ll be in the best place to do a plant workshop in Sydney.

You will get to do our infamous Kokedama Workshop!

Most plants are housed in black plastic pots fresh from the store. Re-imagine how to repot your plants by creating beautiful living containers. Perfect for bench tops, bathrooms, window sills, or free-floating installations! These moss balls come in all shapes and sizes, fit for any space.

You will learn all about Kokedama, Kokedama plants, how to make a Kokedama, forming the moss balls, the steps and materials needed,  what is the right Substrate for Kokedama, different weaving patterns, Kokedama design, and so much more! You’ll make your own little lush moss ball to take home and admire.

Your teacher will also coach you with some of the Plant Doctor’s tips for keeping indoor plants alive, so that you watch and care for your Kokedama with confidence!

All our workshops are first-timer friendly, people of all skill levels and ages are welcome. All materials and Kokedama plants (2) are provided, and we will have some refreshing drinks for you (alcoholic, or non-alcoholic).

Everything you learn, like the Plant Doctor’s substrate recipe and functional layer design, you can also apply to any cool glassware you might find!

If you’d like to have your own private rainforest Kokedama workshop for a team building activity, a hen’s night activity, kid’s birthday party, school holiday activity, a baby shower, a blessing ceremony, Christmas party, adult birthday party, buck’s party activity, or similar, you can make a request on the right side of our ClassBento profile or workshop page click "Request a private class".
