Hands-on, creative, practical, and seriously satisfying.
Step into the forge and spend a full day turning raw steel into a chef’s knife you’ll actually use. You’ll heat your blade in the fire, hammer it to shape on the anvil, and bring your own design to life with clear, step-by-step guidance. When it’s time to harden the steel, you’ll quench your blade in oil for that unmistakable “forged in fire” moment—then break for lunch while the blades temper.
In the afternoon, you’ll refine your knife into a clean, functional chef’s profile—either following your own design or using proven templates to achieve a professional result. We’ll fit a ready-made high-quality timber handle, shape and finish it for comfort, and wrap up with a well-earned beer while the glue sets. Your instructor will give your knife a final professional sharpen, and you’ll head home with a tool you made yourself—ready for years of use in your kitchen.
The class is led by one of our enthusiastic hobby makers, keen to share their skills and help you create your very own hand made chef knife to bring home at the end of your day.
